Since I took these, the National Park Service launched two more restoration projects: a second Officers Quarters was returned to the site in late 2010 and is slowly being brought to its original condition, and a (very) long-term prairie restoration was begun this year.
The 600-acre prairie at American Camp is one of the last remaining natural prairies in the Puget Sound region; today only 80 acres remain unaltered by invasive species.
