I find that a Neopan film coupled with a body of water often brings interesting results, both shooting at the water…
…and shooting into it.
Especially if you flip things sideways. These first four are on Neopan 400.
Here are two of my older favorites, this time in 1600; once I paired them as a diptych, I could no longer imagine them any other way:
You can see more images of water shot with the now-defunct Neopan 1600 in this earlier post. With the 1600 the difference between “at” and “into” was striking, comparing those in the link to the diptych above. I thought the 1600 was a fascinating film, but maybe its occasional schizophrenia was its undoing.

Very nice!
Thanks!
Very interesting and beautiful.
Thank you very much.
Gorgeous shots. Love the emotion evoked, melancholy, tranquility, peace, dolefulness- beautiful.
Wow, what a nice compliment! Thank you.
Love the mood here!
Very interesting with the 1600, think I’m going o try, and compare with Tri- X at 1600. Do you have a comparison of these two?
Btw, I also think Neopan is a very nice film, love Acros 100…..
Oooooh, that’s an interesting thought. I don’t have any comparisons — I would love to see your results between the two! (I just picked up a roll of the 1600 on eBay for a ridiculous price — it’s getting harder and harder to find as people are hoarding it up. Push processing, here I come!)
The Acros 100 is such a lovely film; I shot a roll not long ago, now just waiting for the results.
Reminds me strongly of M.C Escher’s work… the one with the refection of trees in a pond with a fish, you hardly know which way is up at first.
Wow, what a nice compliment! Thanks very much, Kiwidutch.
